The 54th Annual Mystic Krewe of Olympia parade will roll February 23, 2019 at 6 p.m. For route details, see the map on back of page and on insert. Each year as the parades grow, the City of Covington would like all visitors to have the best time possible, and below you will find information about parking that will be helpful for parade-goers and visitors from out of town.
As reminder to those participating in the Mardi Gras festivities, please make sure to lock your vehicles and place your belongings in a safe, secure and concealed location of your automobile.

Safety Reminders from Covington Fire Department:
Please do not let children run up to the floats. Keep a watchful eye at all times.
If you are grilling on the parade route, please be aware of potential fire hazards. It is always a good idea to have a fire extinguisher present.
Please be aware of the parade route and street closures.
Glass containers are not allowed on the parade route.
In case of emergency, dial 911. Emergency personnel will be present at various locations along the parade route.

City of Covington Parade Parking 2019
The City of Covington welcomes all parade-goers this Mardi Gras season. In an effort to provide a pleasant and enjoyable experience, visitors are reminded of parking regulations as designated in Covington Code of Ordinances, Sec. 86-40 – Public Safety:
(g) Park shall be prohibited along any parade route within the first 25 feet of any intersection, any neutral ground, or as properly posted. The distance of parked vehicles off the edge of the roadway shall be a minimum of four (4) feet.
(h) There shall be no parking on the parade route to secure preferred parking more than 36 hours prior to the scheduled parade or 24 hours after the conclusion, postponement, or cancellation of any scheduled parade, or as properly posted.
In observance to parade parking regulations, vehicles may park prior to the parade as follows:
Krewe of Olympia parade parking may begin on Friday, February 22nd at 6:00 AM.
Mardi Gras Day parade parking may begin on Sunday, March 3rd at 10:00 PM. Map available on CW insert, at covla.com and covingtonweekly.com.
