The Covington Police Department is excited to announce two promotions! The first promotion was Officer Patrick Sander, who is a 17 year law enforcement veteran, where he was promoted from the rank of Officer to Sergeant. Sergeant Sanders has been working for the Covington Police Department since 2016, and previously worked with the St Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office for 12 years. Prior to his time at the STPSO, Sergeant Sanders worked for two years with the Natchitoches Police Department . Throughout most of Sergeant Sanders’ career he has worked on the patrol and traffic divisions and is highly respected among his other officers. Sergeant Sanders is currently a Field Training Officer, and manages the CPD’s fleet. Sergeant Sanders will now be the Sergeant on Criminal Patrol Shift 2. Sergeant Sanders was joined by his family today for this amazing accomplishment.
The second promotion was Officer Nick Greaver, to the rank of Sergeant. Sergeant Greaver has been assigned to CPD Criminal Patrol Division since 2016. Prior to Sergeant Greaver’s time at the CPD, he served in the United States Coast Guard from 2007-2016 as a Lieutenant with a search and rescue specialty. Sergeant Greaver is currently a Field Training Officer and the Taser Instructor. This January Sergeant Greaver was voted as the 2018 Officer of the Year by his fellow officers. Sergeant Greaver will now be the Sergeant on Criminal Patrol Shift 4. Sergeant Greaver was joined by his fiancée for his accomplishment.
