The City of Covington welcomes all parade-goers this Mardi Gras season and in an effort to provide a pleasant and enjoyable experience, the City would like to remind visitors of parking regulations as designated in Covington Code of Ordinances, Sec. 86-40 – Public Safety:
(g) Parking shall be prohibited along any parade route within the first 25 feet of any intersection, any neutral ground, or as properly posted. Also, the distance of parked vehicles off the edge of the roadway shall be a minimum of four (4) feet.
(h) There shall be no parking on the parade route to secure preferred parking more than 36 hours prior to the scheduled parade or 24 hours after the conclusion, postponement, or cancellation of any scheduled parade, or as properly posted.
In observance to parade parking regulations, vehicles may park prior to the parade as follows:
· Krewe of Olympia parade parking may begin on Friday, February 6th at 6:00 A.M.
· Mardi Gras Day parade parking may begin on Sunday, February 15th at 10:00 P.M.

As a reminder to those participating in the Mardi Gras festivities, please make sure to lock your vehicles and place your belongings in a safe, secure and concealed location of your automobile. The Covington Police Department will be at full force during these times to assure that our residents and visitors have a safe and fun filled Mardi Gras.
