The NPAS holiday concert this year features carols arranged by John Rutter. Born in London, Rutter was educated at Highgate School in England. Rutter received his training at Clare College, Cambridge. In 1981, Rutter founded his own choir, the Cambridge Singers, which he conducts and with which he has made many recordings of sacred choral repertoire (including his own works), particularly under his own label, Collegium Records. He resides at Duxford in Cambridgeshire and frequently conducts many choirs and orchestras around the world. This concert will include Rutter’s inspiring arrangements of your favorite carols, including “Joy to the World”, “Deck the Hall”, and “Silent Night”, in addition to Christmas carols you may be less familiar with such as “Dormi Jesu”, “Love Came Down at Christmas”, and the “Candlelight Carol”.
Presented by the Northlake Performing Arts Society (NPAS), the show will take place at the Greater Covington Center in the Fuhrmann Auditorium, 317 N. Jefferson Street, Covington on December 20, 2013 at 7:30 pm.
