The Junior League of Greater Covington (JLGC) is hosting its 7th Annual Spring Stomp 5K Run and 1 mile Fun Run for families on Saturday, May 17, 2014. The race will begin at 8:00 am at Hubie Gallagher Park located at 1000 West 15th Avenue in Covington. The purpose of the Spring Stomp is to help raise awareness of the serious problem of childhood obesity in our community, and raise funds for the local projects supported by the JLGC.
The JLGC is a non-profit organization of over 300 women who are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people in our community. Our volunteers have been improving educational and cultural opportunities for children and families throughout Western St. Tammany Parish for nearly 30 years. Funds raised through our Spring Stomp will provide resources for us to continue our important contributions to our projects within the community.
