This week is the City of Covington’s 2nd annual Sparks in the Park, on Thursday, July 2nd 2015. This wonderful family event will celebrate America’s Independence Day, and will begin at 7 p.m. in Bogue Falaya Park, 213 Park Drive in downtown Covington. This year, attendees will enjoy patriotic music followed by an exciting fireworks display beginning at dusk (approximately 8:45 p.m.). Presented by NOLA.com / The Times-Picayune and the City of Covington.
The show will be a fun, family event for the whole community. “Having this event early is a great way to start off the long weekend and celebrate our country’s independence!” says Cody Ludwig, Cultural Arts and Events coordinator for the City of Covington.
LA Partyart will also provide free face painting for the kids and traditional concessions will be available for purchase. Attendees are welcome to bring their own chairs and picnic. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Cody Ludwig, City of Covington, Office of Cultural Arts and Events.
