Funds Raised for Boys & Girls Club

New Orleans (May 18, 2018) – On Friday, May 11, the Covington location of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Louisiana hosted its 2018 fundraising event “Under the Big Top: Cocktails and Cotton Candy.” The carnival-themed gathering was held at the Covington Boys & Girls Club and featured food from Oxlot 9, carnival games, a silent and live auction, signature cocktails and, of course, cotton candy!
Through the event, the Covington Club raised more than $80,000, which will go toward the organization’s mission to enable young people to reach their full potential. The annual event helps fund the Covington Boys & Girls Club’s Summer Enrichment program, ensuring that community youth have a safe, exciting summer – filled with healthy meals, great programs and fun field trips. The Boys & Girls Clubs’ after school programs focus on academic success, healthy lifestyles and citizenship.
Boys & Girls Clubs strive to enable young people to become productive, caring and responsible citizens. The organization is committed to providing youth with opportunities to learn and grow and offers a place for them to truly understand the value of good character.
