With the Coastal Conservation Association of Louisiana, Delta Chapter, Legacy Whiskey and Marsh and Bayou Magazine as partners, Keep Covington Beautiful’s Bogue Falaya River Sweep litter cleanup is rescheduled for Saturday, December 3, 2016, 10 am to noon. Following the cleanup, volunteers will be treated to light lunch and refreshments at The Chimes Restaurant. Join KCB and these great partners for a rewarding few hours of work followed by a fun social event.
All volunteers should sign in at the Menetre (4th Avenue) Boat Launch. Paddlers will collect litter in and along the river from the boat launch to the Boston Street Bridge. KCB will provide trash bags, gloves and litter grabbers. A limited number of canoes and kayaks are available. Sign up to reserve one at keepcovingtonbeautiful@gmail.com by November 28th. To register as a volunteer or paddler with your own canoe/kayak, email jritter@sazerac.com. Personal flotation devices are required for all paddlers. Volunteers who are not paddling will pick up litter at the boat launch and help unload trash from paddlers at Bogue Falaya Park drop-off location.
