Fourth Annual Sparks in the Park Friday, June 30

Mark your calendars for the City of Covington’s 4th annual Sparks in the Park on Friday, June 30, 2017.  This wonderful family event will celebrate America’s Day of Independence and will begin at 7 pm in Bogue Falaya Park, 213 Park Drive in downtown Covington.  Attendees will enjoy patriotic music, followed by an exciting fireworks display beginning at dusk (approximately 8:45 pm) presented by NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune and the City of Covington.  The show will be a fun, family event for the whole community.

“Our ‘Sparks’ fireworks celebration brings many guests to our City. We hope you will join us in downtown Covington, patronize our dining and entertainment venues, and enjoy our fireworks display!” – Mayor Mike Cooper.  LA Partyart will also provide free face painting for the kids and traditional concessions will be available for purchase.  Attendees are welcome to bring their own chairs and picnic.  This event is free and open to the public.

Fireworks Instead of Block Party For June

The City of Covington will not be presenting a Columbia Street Block Party in June. We look forward to seeing your classic cars back in Covington at our next Columbia Street Block Party on Friday, July 28th.  The City will host our annual “Sparks in the Park” festivities 7 pm – 9 pm on Friday, June 30th at Bogue Falaya Park.  Our “Sparks” fireworks (Independence Day) celebration brings many guests to our City.  We hope you will join us in downtown Covington, patronize our dining and entertainment venues, and enjoy our fireworks display!
