Outstanding Volunteer Of The Quarter Robin Games

The St. Tammany Art Association’s Community Outreach Committee recently recognized Robin Games as their first Outstanding Volunteer of the Quarter.  Robin Games is a former High School Art Teacher who recently moved to Louisiana, and STAA is thankful to have such a wonderful addition to their team.

The mission of the outreach committee is to fulfill the goals of STAA that directly relate to our community. The Committee aims to encourage the community to get involved in art-making as a way to express themselves, foster creativity and inspire art, especially to the members of the community that may not otherwise have the opportunity.

Volunteer With The Outreach Committee!

Some examples of STAA Community Outreach activities include helping with kid’s craft-making at Community Festivals & Events such as the Madisonville Wooden Boat Festival, Three Rivers Art Festival, STAA Art Martkets, etc.  The program helps with kid’s craft-making at Cultural Art Days at area Elementary Schools and assists the elderly in craft-making activities on Senior Art Days.  The Outreach Committee also participates in local community group efforts such as Keep Covington Beautiful, Trailhead Events and other local activities. Regular meetings are held to discuss current projects and possible opportunities.  Volunteers are welcome to provide ideas and expertise, prep and organize art projects, participate in local activities, provide financial or other support, and encourage others to participate.
