The Second Saturday Art Walk is a great excuse to get out and enjoy everything Historic Downtown Covington has to offer. Ox Lot Square Townhomes is hosting an open house May 14 and 15 (see back flyer). Visit your favorite gallery and see who’s showing, new additions downtown include Armbruster, Rolland Golden, Saladino and Rutland Street Gallery. The St. Tammany Art Association is showing “Expressions of Place”, and Tripolo Gallery is a Columbia Street mainstay. Stop in any of the great restaurants downtown for a quick bite to eat, or a nice leisurely meal.
Enjoy fine dining at Del Porto Ristorante, Ox Lot 9, Mac’s on Boston and Toad Hollow Cafe, or for a more casual atmosphere, Vazquez Poboys, Buster’s Place or Columbia Street Rock N Blues Cafe. Get some coffee, dessert or a sandwich at St. John’s Coffeehouse. Downtown is about to welcome a new bar & grill in the old Wino’s & Tacos location, Hook’d Up will occupy 321 N. Columbia Street.
Nightlife in downtown includes The Tap Room and Seiler Bar with food, drinks and live music, Columbia Street Rock N Blues, also with late night food and DJ Hollywood this Saturday. The Green Room, now a non-smoking venue, presents The Mockingbirds Saturday, with late night food.
