I want to wish all of you a safe and Happy Thanksgiving. As I said in my statement early last week, we know these holidays are going to be different due to COVID-19. Based on the Governor’s announcement yesterday of a move to a modified Phase 2, we now have some idea of just how different.

How to Host a Food Drive for Northshore Food Bank
Each year, the Northshore Food Bank distributes over 1 million pounds of food to the residents of St. Tammany and Washington parishes. This year the Food Bank saw an increase of more than 110% in the number of individuals and families they serve due to COVID.

St. Tammany Parish Launches Public Involvement for New Directions 2040
St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper announced the first round of public involvement opportunities for New Directions 2040 — the update to the Parish’s Comprehensive Plan. These events will introduce the initiative, explain the role of the Comprehensive Plan in decision-making on land use and infrastructure, and show how residents, businesses, and other stakeholders can participate.
St. Tammany Parish Government Works to Preserve the Shoreline at the Tchefuncte River Lighthouse
St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper announced that the Tchefuncte River Lighthouse Habitat Restoration and Shoreline Protection Project for Educational Outreach will go forward with funding from the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA).
